my greatest autox achievement to date

With some luck* I got the last trophy, 6th place (top third of class get trophies, labeled below as T) in the scca packwood national tour in washington last wkend! But by far what I’m most proud of is beating a bunch of superior cars with significantly better power/weight, tires, etc. =)

*my lucky break was that Gilbert De Los Reyes 2000 Audi A4, who was solidly in 5th place on saturday, thought he had a clean 2nd run on Sunday when he tried to go faster on his final third run. He ended up coning all his Sunday runs and dropping to 11th. Hard lesson for him: check the official posted penalty sheets after each run.

Vancouver drivers placed 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th in my class.
Vancouver drivers won in 3 classes: E Prepared, C Modified, F Modified.
Vancouver also trophied 2nd in C Mod.
Calgary drivers trophied 3rd in A Stock and D Stock.

I didn’t ask about power on the scirocco, but all other cars in the class were better than mine.
