Jeff and Andrew,

Let me know what happens with the itake swap, I might also be interested in getting one.  Might go for a header instead though, we'll see.

If the weather holds out here in Calgary I might hit the local track and see the jet cars run tonight    Cool

Didn't get a chance to do the intake swap, had a few outlaws go down the track and blow up motors and spill oil ... sat in line for over an hour for our first run.  Only got 3 runs in for the whole night.  Slighty disappointing, but fun none the less.

So, here's my runs..

Run1:
R/T ... 1.598
60' ... 1.830
330 ... 6.470
1/8 ... 10.312
MPH ... 63.65
1000 ... 13.634
1/4 ... 16.421
MPH ... 81.07

Run2:
1.060
2.353
7.189
11.047
63.76
14.367
17.154
81.15

Run3:
.890
2.500
7.134
10.969
63.86
14.285
17.068
81.24

Got some footage of it, will post on Tuesday or so.  All three runs were against Jeff Armstrong, the only other DSM NT there.  He ran really good too.  Weighed in at 3050 w/ 3/4tank and my 275lb ass.

Fraser showed up, so did Travis.  There was another Black DSM with "BC DSM" stickers on it, but we only saw him/her leave the spectators area.  Why didn't you stop over and say hi??

Poor fraser had a few crappy runs, ran too rich for the first run, leaned it out, ran good after that, but on his 4th and final run against Dwayne (white supra), he blew his rear drivers CV axle.

Weather was ok, cloudy, windy, and a bit cool ... but makes for good a/f mix Cheesy  Time to make plans for some speed-related mods! Chris, I'm already salivating over them cams, buddy ...

Pix and vids to come soon.

Not sure ... this was my first time, so i was experimenting with different launches, shifting techniques, etc.  First run was kinda funny, staged up, glanced at my tach, back to the tree, quick glance at the tach (yeah, I was nervous), and just as I'm lookin back to the tree, I hear Jeff's tires squeal ... (shit! pay attention Andrew!) dump the clutch, redline, shift, say a lil prayer, redline, shift, redline, shift&brake. I coudln't duplicate it after that. Had a nice lil burnout before the second run, thinking I could heat up the tires and get a better 60' while I worked on my r/t (god i'm slow). Took some of Fraser's advice and shifted around 6,600rpm instead of redlining it. Didn't work to my advantage.  Tried powershifting at a higher rev on the third run, I think I may have been burnin some clutch there.  TSi clutch sounds pretty appealing right now.

Jeff's speeds MPH are all higher than mine except the 1/8marker on our third run, we're identical for speed.  He was ahead of me each and every time.  The only time I got to look for him in my rear-view was at the 1000 marker on our third run when I started pulling away. I need a new job so I can afford all the mods I'm wanting! If I get my way, Chris's cams will be going in before the shootout ... I'll be interested to see the difference.

I wanna go back to the track Cheesy

Great, I should have taken Chris' cams when I had the chance.   Lore-spec intake and headers are on my list, can't let you get too far ahead....

Yah, so I have come down to the conclusion that I should be bracket racing.

1st run was a crappy 15.1 casue I chugged it with a 3500rpm launch, that sucked.
2nd run was a 15.7, GOD DAMN 2nd gear wouldnt go in!! CHANGE THE FLUID DAMMIT!!
3rd run 14.740 (best time so far from my 14.746), it felt good but I was shifting at redline so my turbo was falling off, stupid me not paying attention.
4th run 14.744 - I said screw it, im to consistent.

Basically, last time I ran was with c16 race gas and pulled off back to back 14.746 and a 14.748.  So with pump gas and my new intake it kept me in the same range.  Im not gonna run anymore until I get something big new like a new exhaust, NEED A DAMN 3"!!!  The car is sure bouncy down the track now with my new AGX's in the rear tightened to level 6 out of 8.

But yah, anyone know much about bracket racing how much to enter and how much I could potentially win, it looks like fun as I know I could keep pulling off 14.74's all day.

Andrew, don't smoke your tires, its only for race compound slicks or drag radials.  Regular tires its just a waste of tred.  Did some research on that a while back.  Just line it up, and go on yellow Smiley

Travis, check out www.bcsupershifters.com  Seems like a nice group of guys, and its all about consistancy.  You must run a manual tranny, and to win you run the same each run.

It is all on a delayed dial in.  You could run against Fraser, and win, due to the fact that they would give you a  2.73 second lead (approx).

I was going to go but I think my clutch has had it.  224k on it, with 15-20 hard launches on it.

you may want to consider a small spin just to clean off any pebbles or leaves or sand or anything you may have picked up in staging.
