Not sure if the car will be track-ready by this date but I'll at least be spectating (might be best to gauge the competition first LOL )

Drew,

http://www.missionraceway.com/
http://www.missionraceway.com/mrprules/08fridayrules.htm

Read all about it.  Basically a place to race your street car off the street.  If you go try to show up as early as possible.  If you show up early (4:30-5) you can sometimes get 6 runs in.  Show up late (6 or 7) and you might get 3.  You want to get thru tech ASAP and get some runs in before all the cars show up.

Make sure your car is safe (good tires, good general condition, no leaks, battery is bolted in securely), 1/4 tank of gas is good, you need to drain your coolant and refill with water (should have some water wetter from redline in there too).  If you have a 95+ you can run regular antifreeze but check the rules on that link to confirm.  When you go in tell them it's your first time, they'll point you to tech inspection, then tell the tech guy it's your first time and he'll give you a run thru of the rules and procedure and stuff you need to know.

Do a search in this forum too, there's some write ups for new guys at mission from past years.

I don't get upset but when someone talks like they know everything and when you put a statement like this turbo spools at this rpm your kidding yourself on a car making 600-1100whp. It can't be done.

Why not drive yours Zach?  Nothing like experience.  You HAVE to do it the first time sometime, and you never know, you might surprize yourself!  I know I did, managed a 14.0 second pass ever.

just run a line from your boost source(anywhere, BOV line works well, t into it) and then put the other end of that line to the wastegate actuator.  You will be on whatever boost the actuator is, but it won't go past that anyways.  Then put a manual boost controller into that line.  Simple, simple

This would be a hard-and-fast rule then, eh?
I was a little bummed but running water makes sense.

yep, you have to.  But you just flush out all your coolant now, do a nice job.  I put a garden hose T in my heater hose and then open the drain on the rad.  Then flush it till only clear water comes out when its running.  You turn the hose on just enough to keep the system full, but be careful not to over pressure the system with the household water supply.

Day before, toss in a bottle of system flush chemical.

Then, when its clean, drain a liter or so and put in the water wetter.

Also clean out your overflow bottle real well too.

Then in the fall, just dump half the system and refill it with coolant.  That step is easy.

The added benefit is that you for sure get a coolant flush once a year.
