I know my 17X7 are fitting no problem, my car has alot of travle hight ect ect, I was wondering if I run some volk 36 offsets with 25mm spacers so its farly close to a 42 off set if I would be capable of running 17X9s or17X10s. I was thinking for rubber to do the math so im running a 2.5" side wall. Braking traction isnt fun. thanks thoughts would be great.

no fuel, rpm, or boost log. "It can't be done" Tune by luck! Lol I don't get upset but when someone talks like they know everything and when you put a statement like this turbo spools at this rpm your kidding yourself on a car making 600-1100whp. It can't be done.

if you really want to get serious about traction, you are going about it the wrong way. You want to run smaller wheels with bigger sidewall tires in very sticky rubber. If you run 16x8 on all 4 corners with some 225/50 tires that are "R" compound(eg BFG Drag Radials, or Khumo VictorRacers) and barely legal for the street, in the dry you will have no traction problems. They also make R non-slick tires, do some research. They can be had for not too much money. On the other hand if you want to have a car that looks fast and you can tell people you have 10" wide wheels, cut out your wheel wells and bolt em up Hell you can run 35 series rubber too and have another number that is "better" than other guys cars too. What I am saying is sidewall flex helps with traction. Why do you think real dragsters use "wrinklewall" slicks? OH and PS, breaking traction IS fun, hehehehe. Sliding sideways down a hiway onramp at near hiway speeds, feathering the throttle to keep from loosing it is a hoot. PPS, I only dream of having a car that can do that, but I can't in real life.

Another thought would be a set of wheels off an FD RX-7. 16x8, all you need is a (5mm?) spacer to make them the correct offset. I'm looking at a set on Ebay for around $200 right now. Great if you're looking for something cheap-cheap.
Edit - Once you get into the wider stuff (8" +) you'll be looking at clearance issues with the suspension. The forward control arm on the rear suspension (Assuming that you're AWD) will rub.

This is what I've heard, yeah. Perhaps if you go bigger diameter, you'll gain some clearance suspension wise. Though I imagine that you'd be having issues with fender rub, then. Oh well, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't.

offset would probably be ok, close anyways. You will have to mount up a tire and try it out.
15" is fairly small wheel tho, so unless you plan on running slicks with big sidewalls, they are probably not the right wheel for you. And actual drag slicks, not street legal.

35 mm is getting closer.
See with the 15" wheel, you are bringing the widest part lower in comparison with the widest part of the strut. You will have to mount a tire and try it. Just mount one and put it on the front, on one side and then turn the wheel thru its travel. Also see if it clears the brakes. I know a 15" wheel won't clear the 2 piston stock brakes(93-94 or 2g brakes). I wouldn't give up real brakes for nice wheels tho. Once you are done with your buildup you will be trapping at some serious speeds and its real nice to be able to stop. Trust me, even at my traps of 114mph, I like the stock "big brakes" Stock small awd brakes were seriously getting sketchy at 105mph traps.
