Got the talon to the track yesterday. The gremlins showed up...failed Kinetic HD4000(aka Competition Clutch) in second gear. Though I still managed a 1.6 second 60'.

I don't get upset but when someone talks like they know everything and when you put a statement like this turbo spools at this rpm your kidding yourself on a car making 600-1100whp. It can't be done.

I made it home with the clutch. Holds well enough to cruise.

Here's the one run I did do that the clutch held somewhat but slipped partially in 2nd/3rd and wouldnt let me grab 4th so easily.

This was my second Kineitc/SBR clutch. The first one lasted less than 2000kms. This latest clutch was a warranty clutch.

I'm going to try the new Fidanza 4.3 sprung 6 puck this next time around. It should be here next week. I'll post a review once I have it in.

When the Fidanza fails I'll go twin disc but I wanted to hold off for now until the driveline is completely new. Almost there.

Just an added note, the car is finally pulling like I want it to. The 13.1 second run I did manage was with a 2.1 60' and a 112MPH trap while missing 4th.......only 14psi.  Cool  I think the car might have an 11 second run in it on pump gas.

looks like the start of something good for sure  Smiley

You need closer gear ratios too, its off its  power band after each shift or so it sounds like?

Its not a ratio problem but more so a no load on the engine caused by the slipping making it hard to make boost.

It is big but not absolutely huge. I see full boost at 4600rpm ish while under load. The new parts should be here next week. Going to tear it apart tonight.

That first video looked , you looked like you came out pretty good on the two step. lifted nice showing promise Wink

I have the SBR4000 super 6puck inerator thingy dodad..  too... I have not raced it more than twice to see how it runs and only on low boost doing 12.4 and 12.5 at 118.. so I am not too happy to hear this.  But is sure is a good street clutch, I was quite happy as I heard it was a bitch around town.

On a slightly offtopic note.

My friend had his first time at the track this previous friday in his 91 GT-r.  And he said when he raced he raced against a fast-ass dsm that was putting down 11's.  I was just wondering who it was.
