well, despite a few issues, the red car pulled a 11.93 tonite at Mission. 116.7mph trap speed. 1.79 60' time. 7.72 and 92mph in the 1/8th.
All of them personal bests for me and the car.
I know the car has more in it.

yea, its faster than it was last nite.
I tuned it on thursday nite and it flat out ripped. Like, make your eyes big in 3rd gear kinda thing.
Then I saw that I needed gas. I had an unopened 5 gallon can of VP 103 race fuel in the garage. I figured, I already own that fuel, may as well put it in. Also, maybe some extra knock insurance as I won't be paying attention to the knock gauge at the track. Not like I needed the extra octane, the car was working well at 24-25psi.
Half way to Abbotsford from Chilliwack, the car developed a minor misfire. Pulling up a hill it was worse. Merging, the car was flat feeling. Still had power, but no where near like the nite before.
Everything else is hopefully in top shape, so I can only guess as to what the culprit is. Thats sarcasm by the way, I know it was the 3 year old fuel. And maybe older, if it was sitting at the VP storage facility for any length of time.
Also I am rusty as shit, I hit one good pass, but even that one had a crappy 2-3 shift.
But even then I let out a good Woohoo! when I got my 11 second pass.

it didn't smell bad either, and according to VP's website, it can be stored up to 3 years if the can is not opened, but I suspect maybe it was stored for a a couple of years BEFORE I got it. Oh well, I will put it in my daily driver so I don't completely waste it.

Congrats, John.
Sounds pretty fast to me... Perhaps 11.5 once you get good gas in it?

I was figuring that for an outside hope and dream. 11.6-11.7 should be realistic. I pulled a great launch out of it(for me) but thats not always gonna happen.
I was hoping to break 120mph trap speeds, but it was not pulling hard in 4th.

Right on John! Its good to see the 'little guy' make good, steady progress without just shelling out cash and throwing parts at it. Too many guys throw twice the money you've got into your car at something and run slower times, and then other guys like Lowell will run as fast or better on less parts but they've got the benefit of daily dyno time and getting paid to tune cars for a living. A good example of what can be accomplished with persistence and dedication.

yea but I feel like its an under achiever still, that turbo is pretty big for those numbers. We shall see. Other than the turbo tho, yea its pretty basic
