Well my timing kit has finally showed up, all I need now is some knowledge on how to do it haha.

I did my first timing job on the laser in Nov.  I had never done timing before, just lined up all the marks and had no issues, same should be for you, altho a 2g has less room but you should be fine.

VFAQ has top notch instructions.

Mine's coming due for a timing belt as well. 70k on Lordco components... I think I've got a bit of an oil leak in the front case as well... Mabye this summer.

First time i did it I didnt do the waterpump, I went slow, it took about 1.5 hours to do. waterpump went 1 week later, i tore it down and put in a new waterpump in under an hour.

I made marks on the old timing belt with white out where everything lines up, transfered the marks to the new tbelt, slapped it on and fired it up.

Oh, and fill your coolant back up BEFORE you put the timing on so you know if it leaks coolant from the waterpump gasket.

and don't skimp out, change everything in there.

also, follow the VFAQ to the letter. If it says wait 15min, wait 15min.

and make sure your rear bshaft is in phase.  You pretty much have to redo all the hard work to phase again.

Well, its looking like I won't have a Mitsubishi related product on the rd by then.  Evo is coming off tommorow for some work and the Mustang is getting insured.  Sooo, my idea of the circle route is out, atleast for me.  But the Vic to Jordon river would be a good run.

Two weeks worth of work?

Yeah, come on out even if it's in the Stank.

Yea the work could be done before then but the funds dont warrent it to be.  I have a list of stuff it needs. Plus the wait for parts to come in.

Turbo rebuild, pull off all IC pipes and clean out oil, get new wheels. Seems like the HG might be going, I am over heating under boost but at no other time so its like the head is lifting and allowing exhaust to enter the cooling system.

Also going to do timing components w/p,  put in a set of 3g lifters.    And a Possibility of a set of HKS 264's

Altho, My purple 91 might be ready by then so we will see.

Alright, one week to go.

I'll be sending a PM out to anyone who posted as a reminder.

I'll also have BCDSM decals and waterbottles available for purchase.
