Sounds like this is going to be more of a BCDSM members meet not a BCDSM meet with actual dsm's.

Givver.

If I didn't have a Talon I'd have an e30... I always like seeing them.

Meet was good, 5 DSMs 1 skyline and no troubles (touch wood Wink)

It would have been nice to see the Evo out though.

Cam took a few, i'm sure they'll be posted soon. It was a good run and great to meet some of the guys from around here.

Meet went well.

I have photos to upload, but I screwed up on the flyby video - Just learning the new camera and forgot that you don't use the shutter button for video mode. I've gotta install the Canon software on the computer before I upload things... So be patient. There's a good chance that I'll fall asleep before it finishes.

It was good to see everyone. A new member, some old members, and our resident DSM-less member.

Cam, from experience, don't install the Canon software, just set your camera up as a disc drive or put the memory card in a USB card reader(or in the computers card reader) and use that as a disc drive.

Windows has ok/decent software for viewing and basic editing, so you can use that.

Upload to Flickr or whatever from there.

Most commercial software for cameras(aside from the really good big dollar editing ones) is not really worth cluttering up your drive with.

Some cameras (Like Sigmas) need the software, as the data stored in the camera isn't actually an image file until its translated on your pc.

... most cameras do this internally when you take the picture.

On a completely random note it just occured to me that I end up buying the "DSM" of whatever product world I buy from. I have the DSM of cameras, of computers, of guitars, girlfriends, etc...

I likely won't be using the majority of the Canon software - I've got Photoshop.
However, it looks as if they've got a couple useful ones. Primarily, their import & edit utility has batch editing options. I HATE going through a hundred photos in Photoshop to resize & crop if necessary. I hear that CS4 will have batch editing options... Might have to have a look around for it.

Anyhow...
A few photos follow. Bigger/More can be found on Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/38991683@N00/. I have fullsize copies on my HD - Feel free to request.
