Lacquer thinner or some aggressive polish might take some of that ugly orange overspray off.

I'd take that motor out if I was you and get the engine bay primed and painted.

Thats what I told him too Ivan, but what Cam said will work too, if you really get in there.  Big pressure washer will help too.  Soften up everything really well first and blast it off.

was worth every minute you spent, doesn't look like a diy for sure, looks slick... i love it  Grin

in fact before i joined bcdsm i was looking for a hood with that style of air scoop in it, and when i saw yours i got excited because i figured they were available commercially :p

it  did do it  myself . but i have to admit that i spent  like 2 or 3 hours ..taping and drawing lines and messuring and re-checking and RE-mesuring .. be for making the first cut .

after that .. it was  some what  "easier "  folded back a 1/4 inch of the metal of the top part weld it , cut the two triangle piece and weld them on .  Weld everything nicely then bondo the  thing to make it look Slick , ET VOILA !!! !! i love it ..

Is your car a non-turbo? Just wondering why you had the hood scoop made on that part of the hood?

Its an AWD. Its to functionally cure the problem of the timing belt melting away from escessive heat.
