Howdy

I raced at the PG circle track about 5 or 6 years back....but I assume that's a different location. If you want a true rush, go door-to-door against 35 other cars on a tiny track!

When I arrived there, I instantly felt like I had wandered into the casting call for "Deliverance" Wink But then, PG is just that kinda town....The first guy I saw at PGARA track was running a weed-wacker with 1 hand & carrying a beer & lit cigarette in the other. Looked almost like a down-market Joe Dirt.

Haha that's an awesome description Ken.

Yes the circle track is PGARA. It is a different location than the drag track. Also has a little Go-Kart track there as well. Auto-X was held on it for a few times last year as far as I know.

The autocrossing won't be at the Kart Track anymore, though.  The owner of the drag strip is the leader of the Corvette Club who owns the autocross equipment.  Not much for a DSM to do at PGARA unless they have an intermission King of the Hill elimination.  What class did you run here Ken?  Yah, PG is a redneck mill city.

That king of the hill is pretty fun. When I did it, it was $20 to enter. Fastest person won half
the money from everyone who entered and the other half went to the track.

There's a king of the hill this weekend. A few buddies and I were thinking of going in it, I was goin to be running the talon but I think I'm backing outta it. And I know another buddy is as well.

Drive in sounds a little more promising! Smiley

Hey Richard

A small group of us came out from Terrace to do the Bomber invitational (4cyl class); I was driving a '91 civic 4-door - freaking tough little car!.
here is a pic of the car with the current owners - back when I raced PGARA, it was blue & yellow, painted to look like the police cars from "Mad Max"

That class at PGARA was being dominated by the local wreckers. They drove like lunatics because if they trashed a car, they just went across hwy 16 to their yard, and quickly caged up another one. On the flip side, they were very generous with parts for us when we had problems. I drove in the Saturday night 100 lap main event. We arrived just about 1 hr before everything started, so we had the >8hr drive, a bit of a rest, then racing. By the time the 100 laps were over, I was so wiped out that I just sat in the car for about 10 minutes before I could climb out.

At the Terrace track the largest field I was ever in was only 15 cars and we never did night racing, so despite years of experience it was like being back in my first race.

Plus there was a few dirty racers there that would have been black-flagged out within the first few laps if they had been at our track. Still very glad to go race there tho'. Most of the folks there were fantastic. Smiley

Good news Richard!  Cool

Although, I don't think my car will be ready until late in the season...
Still need a clutch and this SD setup is tricky to tune.

Post here if you decide to come up Scott...would love to see another dsm run...
You too Mike!

Maybe June 11th... Im parking my car for at the end of June as it needs a bunch of work. Re-painting it and building an interior to work with a cage.
