Art Dickenson just posted the following dates for
autocross meets in the Skytrain parking lot in Surrey
at Scott Road. Here they are:
30th May Sunday (Last Sunday In May)
6 th June Sunday (First Sunday In June)

11th July Sunday (Second Sunday in July)

25th July Sunday (Last Sunday In July)
1 st August Sunday (First Sunday In August)

Art, from the Jag club says:
"Hope we can get a good showing of cars this year....Jaguar or otherwise we do not mind. Having fun is all we need to have happen...and perhaps have a few more winners from our group....at year end. "

So you just show up and decide if you want to race....Show up at 12:30 or earlier. First car out at 1. Event fee is $50....kind of expensive but you should support local motor sports events so they keep coming back! a Snell2000 or better helmet is required. I am willing to lend my helmet out to people with big heads (XXL) and a balaclava.

haha that would be a riot but no, right now I don't have an autox ready car after just selling the beast.

I have been offered a co-driver seat in an m3 but I don't know what that club has for class and co-driver requirements. (I'm a novice)

go to the dates listed above for more info. There's also a phone number. May 30th event is non-sanctioned so it's just for bragging rights haha.

frikin a yes!!

I had not seen an autox event in the lower mainland that wasn't at Boundary Bay or the driving center.

I will make one of them.

Probably not in the Talon tho.

I wish I  new about the May 30th one before...

Oh and autox doesn't care if your car is dope, or hot etc.

A G stock car can beat a STU or even a Mod car if its well driven.  I believe Remis Jetta will be H or G stock if its not a VR6 or anything fancy.  I ran my galant in H stock and took 7th out of a 42 car field with it, against new M3's, older M3's, Miatas, Cooper S, S2000, STi etc.

And at another one, the XR4Ti, driven by me got schooled by a BONE STOCK 95 Grand Am automatic.

The issue with the jetta isn't that I wouldn't want to bother, it's that it is a daily driver on its last legs with a dying water pump.

(and those are like 6 whole dollars for a jetta!)

John if you go out to any of them let me know. Seriously, i'm up the hill from it, I could see it from my house if it wasn't for the trees.

next Sunday is a competition event for the Jaguar club but the 3rd event will be using a custom layout using most of the parking lot.... Looking forward to that one.

Zip ties aren't really meant for things like driveshafts you know.
