B.C.'s quickest automatic DSM.

After hearing of someone that said to wet sand the headlights to restore them, I went to lordco to get the materials I would need. I was just going to get the sand paper, but lordco wanted $20 for 5 sheets of x grit paper. I was not about to spend $100 on sandpaper, so one of the guys told me about this kit. it attaches to a standard drill with 3 grits of paper and a buffer with compound.

Well, it worked great. The headlight looks brand new again. 2 very big thumbs up for this product. and it only cost $20. So, if you have the 1gb yellow headlights, get this kit! it comes with enough material to do both headlights, and it only took about half an hour to do one light.

Cheers.

Good to hear about the 3M kit.

I used the Turtle Wax kit that comes with a few abrasive pads, some lube, and then a wax. It took off only a very light layer of oxidation. But my lights were fairly heat-scored (is that a word?....cracked near the top). I wouldn't buy the TW kit again.

I think I'll still try sandpaper still in my case.

Glad to hear that the product does a good job(the 3M one anyways)

Just so you all know, I do this at work.  I have quite a bit of experience doing this sort of thing from my past job before turning wrenches.

I wet sand with a few different grits(tho usually it only needs 1 or 2), then polish with a couple of different grades of polish with a professional polisher.  Much more than a drill with a ball on it  Smiley  Then hand apply a coat of UV resistant wax.

Its $45+ tax.

not trying to negate what you guys are doing on your own, thats great.  But if you don't feel you have the time, or you are maybe a bit skittish with the sand paper or machines around your car(And its not a slight at all, you can frig it up but good if you don't know what you are doing), get ahold of me.  I can usually do it all in half an hour for 2 normal sized head light lenses.  I can also polish tail ligh panels etc, I know when I did mine it was a HUGE difference.

Of course, if you buy a kit, you can see what you did all on your own, plus the kit will do more than just 1 set.

Actually I was meaning to post about this.

I just did the 3M stuff from Lordco on the eclipse I just sold. The headlights were HORRIBLE like chipping all over the place, completely dim, think of like 5 years sitting at Ralphs destroyed.

Took me about 2 hours and they both looked like new, like brand new.

Absolutely amazing stuff, it really takes the guesswork out of it, sure its a bit expensive for sandpaper, but the ease makes it worth all the while.

I would seriously go on TV to promote this stuff if they wanted me to.

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT .. but easier then trying to explain  ill just let the pictures speak for them self Cheesy

the last picture shows the diferance on  the brightness   here we go  i give it a 4/5  since  i had some issues getting  in the inside low corner of the headlight  with the pad ..

great stuff all around  40 $ seams abit pricy for the size of the kit  but great results  Cheesy
