I need a toolbox to organize all my crap and I'm looking at what my local costco has which is this combo:

http://www.amazon.com/Homak-BK04072601-Professional-Rolling-Cabinet/dp/B001KWGEOI/ref=sr_1_63?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1271627721&sr=1-63
and
http://www.amazon.com/Homak-BL02027901-Professional-Drawer-Extended/dp/B001KW8FC2/ref=sr_1_70?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1271627721&sr=1-70

Cost is $400.  Anyone know of anything better or have any opinions to offer?

Check out Canuck tire. They have husky boxs for dirt cheep that last. My box has been 5 years and the only thing wrong with is is a big dent from a dumb ass in a body shop backing in to it.

I got the roling with the large box top for under 650. Prices might have changed but it's worth a shot.

snap-on may be overpriced, but they are the best tool box you can buy.

I paid around $3500 for my snap on box lol.

I use a Craftsman, more than happy with it. IMO wtf would possess you to buy a snap on box? Buy Quality tools to go inside it, opening and closing a drawer does not make a difference to how you do your job. The End

Yep, that's where I got mine. $600 for bottom and top cab. Same size unit from canadian tire was over $1000.

yea they don't have the nice ones at Costco anymore...  I wanted one of the big ones with the center push/slideout shelf/workspace, locker like side box etc, but now they only have cheapies.

The Canadian Tire better quality ones are really good deals as are the Craftsman ones.  Get roller drawers if you plan on doing even semi full time work as the slider drawers wear out rather quickly and stick etc.  Annoying.

Also KMS has good deals on decent ones too.

Dont go too cheap if you actualy use it more than once in a while.

I won't say this again, go for quality when buying a box. Trust me. If you can't buck up for a good box, go to Sears and look at the Made in Canada Craftsman boxes. Don't get anything made in China. It's cheap junk and it won't last.

Quality is quality. Buy it once or buy it twice. There are guys at my work who have Mac tool boxes that are 40 years old. There are guys at my work who have those cheap boxes that have been mentioned in this thread already needing custom reinforcements because they are weak.

Oh I agree you need to get something good but to spend $4K on a roll chest is plain stupid IMO. Only way I would do that is if I was buying a $10K set or something.

professionally, yes, you have to get a decent one.  I have a SnapOn one that I bought used for more than alot of the cars on here were bought for.

However, for home/hobby use, the money could EASILY be put towards some more useful/fun items.
