Buy it.


Good brakes, good shifting, good acceleration.   You can spin the fronts like nothing.   No, its not an import.   :laugh:

How many cars under $30,000CAD  can chirp 3rd gear pretty much stock?   No, its not an import.  :laugh:

You simply can't beat the price.  Anything with comparable power will be at least $8,000 more......

Funnest car I've driven yet, besides my Talon.

How did you find the Viper-style seats?

How much of a distraction/obstruction did you find with the rear fin?

The seats felt a tich small for me, but otherwise comfy and gripped me well.

The rear spoiler didn't bother me.   There's enough styling differences to keep it from looking exactly like a Neon.

But when you drive it, you sure don't feel like you're driving a Neon. :shock:

This is a car exhibits the same kind of price/performance ratio that put Talons on the "road" map 13 years ago......

After getting a pretty close look at the SRT at Mission the other week I must say I like 'em too.  I'd love to drive one.  I think I'll take one out for a spin when they hit Canadian dealerships...  :twisted:

As for the "it's still a neon" when you look at most any of the new sport compacts out there you can say that about almost anything.  The MazdaSpeed Protege, T25 turbo, Sparco/Racing Beat/Tokico/Racing Hart parts, but "it's just a protege" or the Spec V, 2.5L DOHC, 6 speed w/ limited slip, brembos, but hey "it's just a sentra" and all the rest...

As far as I'm concerned it's a different beast altogether from the neon.  The basic DNA might be similar, but hey, so is monkey's DNA compared to ours, right?  

I'm keeping my Talon though...

I went to the show-room to check one out after reading many reviews.

I must say, the Ego has a hard time getting past the "Neon" thing.

I went anyway.

I do not fit in this car at all - the seats were an absolute nightmare.

I am 6'5" and almost 300Lbs (best way for me to improve my 0-60 is to diet  :oops: )

It is not so much the leg room that is a problem, because it is not. It was 2 things for me that make this car a no go.

1) Shoulder width. My Shoulder was forced right up against the seat-belt holder (It would need to be at least 2 inches futher out for it to not be a problem). It dug right into my shoulder painfully.

2) The brutal seats. The seats have high sides on both the base and the back. Both of which were far too narrow. I felt like I was sitting in a children's school chair.


Other than the size problems, the car looked nice - inside and out. The Talon does look nicer, but it is getting dated.

For someone interested in this car be sure you are under 6 feet in height.
