All honda's end up with noisy d series imput bearings. Even my typeR is loud.

I do how ever have one if yours blows.

But in all honesty, don't worry about it.

You have a trans? I might pick it up just to have the spare, if it is just taking up space. Plus if I just drive it until it blows then i'll need a whole new one anyway.

it wont blow remi.... trust me on that one. hahaha.. The only way to kill a honduh civic with a D is

1) run it out of oil
2) snap the timing belt...  (D16).... d15 are alot mor forgiving with valve to piston contact.

i have never seen a actually busted and not able to move D series trans.

now the newer ones on the other hand...

I've done at least 5 myself in the last year or so at work.  And watched others do a few too.

Yeah i'm pretty convinced it won't die anytime soon but its just freakign annoying. Sounds like someone stuck a baseball card in the spokes of the car between 2-4k.

Also consider my luck with transmissions...

5 what, trans replacements?

I hear the new R series cars are horrible for reliability.

yes the R series engines have issues with the block cracking and spewing coolant out on the outside of the block.

SHitty castings is the problem.

but yes john,  i should have said the EF(88-91), EG(92-95) chassis are the reliable ones...  EK (96-00)are okay too but after that hondas quality down the shitter.

yea 02 ish kinda Civic 5spds.

And yes Remi, replacements.  All were noisy in 1st and/or reverse.  Really bad.  A couple wouldn't stay in gear unless you held the shifter.
