Sensor on throttle body

What is the sensor on top of the 1G throttle body. It is right before the throttle if you looking down the barrel (on the left side) the tall skinnier one. Anyways.. would this cause any starting/idler problems if it was loose? I am not sure if it is getting the full conection

that is the idle stop switch. you want to adjust it so that the throttle plate touches the button on the bottom of the sensor.
