Im having a problem hopfuly someone can help. I have a 91 talon awd and when it gets to 2000 rpm it craps out misses and smokes, any ideas? Thanks

change the spark plugs if you havent.

check wires and plug to MAF.
Get a datalogger..Palmloggers are cheap.

Well i started the car this morning and it was running great, then i heard what appeared to be a relay kicking in or out , and everytime it made this noise the rpms droped and then wouldnt rev above 2500 3000.

odd. is the clicking audible from the interior?  You may have a fuel pump or fuel pump relay issue... Do you have a re-wired pump?

i had that problem when i had a bad ECU.


Swap in a known working ECU and see what happens.  They are super common to go bad on 1G's

I thought the same thing jordan. But I figured no rewire or upgraded pump likely. If the car is modded time to go to the mechanic.

+1 or 30 on what Brett said.  Common on these cars, and the first symptoms will be the cutting out and the rapid clicking from under the dash behind the radio

Next it will just stop running and have a funny smell out of that area.
