Hey guys
Quick question.

Car just failed, I'm not at home. No resources I usually have (manual, etc).

Quit running, fuel pump still cycles when I turn it over.
Pocketlogger shows a code for the Crank Angle Sensor.

On a 1G, is there a Crank Angle Sensor AND a Cam Angle Sensor, or are they one and the same?

(I replaced my Cam Angle Sensor a couple years ago, I'm going to be a bit pissed if my good Blacktop one has gone kaput)

Thanks
Cam

They are the same, I have a spare if you need it.

I'm on the island!

Gotta find something local, or make this one work.

sometimes heating the CAS up with a blowdryer or heat gun lightly will allow it to work again... enough to get the car started again and get you to where u can replace the CAS.

Its nice when the ECU tells you the problem!! double check the wiring as well just incase..

Double checked the connector, and whacked the CAS with a flashlight a couple times.
Nothing. Car wasn't stone cold either, lots of residual heat from being run a couple hours earlier.

It started, I drove it down to the end of my mom's driveway, and it died. No start after that, just crank crank crank. I was like, 'FML, not again!'.

Luckily I've got a datalogger this time that tells me what it is. Last time it happened it was diagnose-by-guesswork.

WHY does my damn DSM always fail at my mom's house!? Last two times it's stranded me has been there. Gotta start keeping a tool set there or something!
