I picked up a fuel pump for my laser and need help replacing it. Dunno if the tank needs to be empty when the pump gets changed but it's pretty much empty now. If anyone could give me a hand I'll provide the beer n pizza. I have a socket set here if needed. I live near royal oak and Kingsway and am available weekdays after 430 and weekends. Any help is appreciated

Can't help, in Victoria.
Not completely sure about a 2G car, but on a 1G the tank doesn't have to be empty. In addition to sockets, some line wrenches are very, very useful.

yup, chances are the fuel line (pressure side) is rusted.. they are usually a pain in the ass.
Im availible for stuff like this, but normal mobile rates apply.
But it should be a good "starter" job for you. I ya cant do it, well then i guess its time to pay someone to do so.

If it's as easy as just unbolting the old one and bolting in the new one in it's place then I can proly figure it out. It's the things like "when you replace a fuel pump, make absolutely POSITIVE that you do 'this' cuz if you don't then it won't work and you'll screw something up and cause more damage" that I'm afraid of. I could do it if someone was just there to tell me how to do it even. Just to make sure I don't miss any of those crucial steps

just soak everything in penetrating oil for a bit, you dont want to snapp off all those tiny 8mm nuts holding the housing in place.

very easy. just follow the vfaq, and use line wrenches. you can use vise grips if you are careful and don't have line wrenches.

On a 2g it's a big plastic cap thing. I just used a screwdriver and hammer to gently tap it around to loosen it. mind u I don't think I got it tight enough re installing it the same way.
