also s canning my car, it came up with an idle control system malfunction. where should i start with this one. right now when im moving with the gas off, the idle spikes between 1700 and 1000 but when i come to a complete stop, the idle is maintained at 1300.

Have you increased your base idle speed with some tuning option, or is this just a by-product of a malfunctioning idle control?  If it's bad idle control, check the "Surging Idle" thread started by BrandonDouglas for some tips.
