Don't know if this is the right section...?

Has anyone ever heard of Frankenstein longblocks made by dsm graveyard down in the states..?
Not bad for $2999.00 plus shipping of the new and old motors (they want your core) Check it out, let me know what you guys think..
http://www.TheDSMGraveyard.com/product_p/dg1008.htm

The difference between a complete stock rebuild longblock and there Frankenstein longblock is only $500.

yea there is a copycat one.  The original has been around for a while and has a good rep.

Thing is its east coast US I believe, so any money you save in the build will be eaten in shipping, duty etc.

Get a local person to build you an engine Emmo.

If you're considering a complete engine, for 3000 bucks, maybe this would work for you http://www.bcdsm.org/forum/index.php/topic,26192.0.html although you'd still need a head for it.

ever considered building an identical/similar setup locally?

most of the parts are off the shelf items or can be sourced very easily.  then just pick a machine shop of your choice.  its very likely you will come under 3k imo and you wont have to worry about core charges or expensive freight.

True that! I have a stroker crank and rods i'd let go for dirt cheap, you'd just need pistons and machine work.

I put the evo 9 pistons on the 1G rod for my 6 bolt swap from them. They did a fantastic job John and Branden are very knowledgable and I recommend them highly.
