So as many of you know, I work in the animation industry, and I figured that since I've seen a lot of your guys' work, that I should show off some of mine.  This is my 2011 production reel that I made towards the end of last year, beginning of this one. It's kind of like a resume for us, showcasing what we do. The rules are simple...show as much as you can in under a minute, keep it simple...and try not to annoy anyone. When you're looking to hire someone and you have to go thru hundreds of these...shit gets old, FAST! That's why I have cut after cut...so that the viewer doesn't get bored. I used this to land my current title as Lighting and Compositing Supervisor. Thanks Johnson! You hit the nail right on the head, except you forgot about design, which comes before modeling. Aside from that, that's the way she goes...and then for certain shots it goes over to FX for fire and shit like that. If anyone has kids or nieces/nephews that would probably LOVE to have a tour, I'd be glad to do one. Just give me at least a week's notice and I'll be able to set up a time and date for you. Then pretty much what happens is I walk you and whoever you bring thru the studio to each department, and you and your visitor get a solid breakdown of how we do things. It's free, and we do it because we are in this business of making little childrens' happy all over the world.  |

Thanks Kevin, I'd post the first animation I did but you guys would laugh your asses off. Come to think of it...I think I should just for shits and giggles. This weekend if I can get around to uploading it. It'll give you guys a great laugh. |
