Hello all, I am new to the forum, somewhat new to DSMs. My little brother owned one for a couple years, I helped him work on it, he recently bought a new car and wanted to sell his DSM. Long story short, I am now the proud owner of a 1992 Talon Tsi Awd. And a spare 4g63 6bolt.
I was looking around for parts, and opinions/reviews of parts, general DSM research really, trying to decide which route to go with this project. While looking around I came upon this forum and after looking around ya'll seem like a good group of knowledgeable people, I figured If I want to get opinions and advice I should join here.
So now you know why I am here, I just want to say hello to you all.

Welcome to the club. Always nice to see new people joining.
As for the build route what are you hoping to do with the car? Daily driver, auto cross, drag? Knowing what you want your end result to be will help you decide which path to go.

Thank-you all for the welcome! ...As for the build route what are you hoping to do with the car?...
I'm thinking about a reliable high performance car (not quite a full blown drag car, but not a daily driver either, likely a weekend car). Will be ordering new performance parts in with each paycheck. The thing I am debating on is how much money I really want to end up spending on the car.. So far the outlook is not good for my bank account Is your little brother Bobby?
and welcome!
put up some pics
No, my little bro's name is Travis.. I will up some pics when the snow is gone..

This may seem totally self serving, and possibly is, but depending on how much you are looking at spending you might want to consider buying my car and either a) swapping my parts onto your car, or b) selling yours as is and driving mine.
Mines in the parts store for cheap, all things considered. You even haves spare 6 bolt, you'd have every part to build a 2.3L stroker minus the pistons.
If I could do it all over again its what I'd do, I'd have lost a lot less money that way. Let someone else take the loss financially.

I would do that, but I have little to no cash atm. I am planning to build the car up slowly but surely over the next couple years. If you do end up parting your car out there was a part or two I had my eye on..

no fuel, rpm, or boost log. "It can't be done" Tune by luck! Lol I don't get upset but when someone talks like they know everything and when you put a statement like this turbo spools at this rpm your kidding yourself on a car making 600-1100whp. It can't be done.
