no nothing different really.  just had the tranny put in with the evo 3 gearset and an act2100 with sprung 6 puck.  the cars shifts alot better and launches well.  there still needs to be a few minor bugs worked out and i'm sure it'll go 10's.  maybe next friday if the weather holds.

i havent really had a chance to see what that hta turbo can do yet.  the last time we messed with that car, it was on the dyno at rg getting tuned when the clutch slipped.  since then i haven't really touched that car.  i'm waiting on some mild cams, a clutch and tranny swap and it should be ready to be strapped back on the dyno.  hopefully i'll get to race it soon.

Well took the colt back to the track tonight after installing the water/ air intercooler.  Managed a best time of 15.3 @ 88 mph. This is on my 89 GT.  I was running around 90% injector duty so I guess its time for a 1g mas and 450Cc injectors along with a new exhiast mani and 1990 DSM TB. Also chip my ECU and tune it. At that point my stock clutch will be giving up the ghost im sure (it already slips at anything over 15-16 psi.....)  So ill put in a DSM turbo clutch/ FWD flywheel and that will solve that problem.  From there full 2.5" exhuast will be in order as well as a whinebro 255 fuel pump.  Im sure that setup will yield me somewhere in the low 14 second range, or maybe if i can find some good slicks and get a decent launch... high 13's!! That would be cool out of a 355000 km 1.6L :P

Alright, so tongiht was the track night for me. Got into the 13's. Final run of the night sat me at a 13.215 @ 103mph, 1.876 60' time. i dont think im going to get much more. I was at the end up 3rd gear and touch my rev limiter just at the finish. This tune is still off the old setup which was working well. I still need a re tune for the turbo, manifold, fmic and more boost probably 20 psi race and 15 psi daily like it is now. I need to fix my damn miss underload too

Good job Kyle, looks like you got that lanuch down.  Big big improvement!

Oh and shift to 4th, your car makes lots of torque, use it instead of revving the piss out of it.  Maybe short shift second a few hundred rpm, then shift to 4th.

huh.

we all heard you could easily cut 1.4-1.5 second 60' times all nite any nite.

That would make your car run a 10.5-10.8

HUGE mph, holy crap!!

ahah no stutter box. No hard pull till 2nd. Riding a clutch at te line it still dosent build boost. But yea I was border like getting booted out of 7 runs or so I was with in 135 by .5 over or under. Very consitant. :)

I was there to witness this. Car is putting down some good power for sure. That 35r definately does not spool in 1st gear like a 14b.  Eh Zach?  Lol. Fix your vss jerk.

Thanks rob. I need to replace my vss so my aem can have a stutter box. She's dead off the line at this point. With that I should hit low 11s to at best mid tens. But I'm happy for a full weight with sunroof car.

Well i did a bit better at the track...  just a weee bit....  but at least its a improvement lol

89 colt GT pulled its first 90 MPH run! hahah

and did a best ET of 15.2 @ 89 MPH w/ 2.3 60'.

The 90 MPH run was a 15.3.

If i could put some better stickier tires on i imagine i could pull a 2.0 60' and it might be possible to dip it into the 14.9 range...

I think i have met the limits of my stock 1.6L MAS/ injectors and tiny 11b td04 turbo.

All runs were made at around 14ish psi of boost.

Everything is stock except the "Maki" water/air intercooler and a "DeHaviland" MBC.  oh and a couple downpipe bolts missing ;) ;)

oh and zachary did a 11.2!! :O
Title: Re: BCDSM track times list
Post by: Zach Holt on June 18, 2010, 11:42:33 pm
11.2 at 127. full tank of gas full intior 10 psi off the line.

kinda disapointed. I was having some one what a drive line problem. clutch not letting loose 2nd gear not wanting to go in.... I should have gone all out before the car got hot. I ran a 11.5 at 105 just costing after 3rd gear first run of the night.

launch controle happened. 1.7 60 on that run. But after that the car wasn't doing so well. 2nd was imposable to get in. It was a problmatic night. I'm sure a high ten is there.

I had the same issues with 2nd gear. I had to let the Rev's die down to 3000rpm before it would just go in.
Lost a ton of momentum.

i miss seeing the car go down the track with the fp3052.  his car looked violent going down the track with that set up.  but so far, the hta turbo seems like the ultimate set up for everyday street driving.

A couple new times here

1992 Eagle Summit Wagon AWD 4g63t -  13.7 @ 99MPH    1.9 60' @ 15psi w/ stock 1G DSM stuff (1G mas, 14b, 450cc, smic, crappy street tires)

1989 Dodge Colt GT (Black HTA68 w/ meth, 24psi, DS MAP, fmic) (260 WHP)    -   12.5 @ 114MPH 2.0 60'  (driven by Brendan Kelly)

Post by: John Hartman on October 16, 2010, 07:29:46 am
good job Brett and Brendan!!

That wagon is a sleeper(unless its loud?) for sure!!  Good launch on that too, its probably not as easy to launch as a DSM.

Is the Colt 60' on slicks or street tires?
Title: Re: BCDSM track times list
Post by: Brett Haviland on October 16, 2010, 02:14:17 pm
it was on slicks.  On the 12.5 w/ 2.0' the launch was crappy...  before it was running 1.90 60's and it should be able to get down to like a 1.8 or high 1.7 if we lowered the PSI on the slicks down and got a better front suspension (horrible wheel hop with lower tire pressure)_

motor mounts, new shocks and that should take care of it  :)

pretty cool!
Title: Re: BCDSM track times list
Post by: Brett Haviland on October 16, 2010, 04:07:12 pm
yeah.. things will slowly get done on it.  We will be shooting for 11's next year for sure.  Going to put on a different  BOV (running crushed 1G currently that leaks like a BITCH), Electronic Boost controller, better flowing exhuast/intercooler setup and more boost.  Maybe also put a meth nozzle pre-turbo as well.  Might do a engine rebuild as well but the engine we have in there seems to be holding up pretty good so far...

Along with that we will be getting solid engine mounts and new struts (hopefully adjustable ones)  That should help the wheel hop problems... Oh and a whole new front brake system with new style non-captive hubs and such with DSM duel piston brakes on the front
