Need help fixing Idle problem
« on: October 01, 2007, 08:46:00 pm »
I installed a FP3065 turbo on my car. I previously had a T28 Killer and had no Idle problems. I didnt move or take any electrical wiring out the only thing I did was to install the turbo. I've tried another ECU and did the same, Tried Dereks MAS (thanks Derek) same thing. My question is , did I maxed out my SAFC? the FP3065 has 4 inched intake so have to custom the piping. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

the Idle is surging, it bounces from 800- 1500 rpm then later the car dies.

Check for a leak between the maf and the turbo.  Check it really good.  Check your bov piping too, and where it feeds into the inlet pipe.

readjusted the tps, O2 sensor is plugged too. Might be that one of the runners on my Intake manifold is cracked will confirm that , hard to reach though. thanks for the feed back. Also thinking that the MAFT is very sensitive that it might be getting an altered reading due to fact that I'm running a 4 inch intake pipe. I dont really know but I will try all this. Thanks for the input guys.

found out that you cannot run a 4 inch intake pipe on the stock maft, returned the stock pipe carruns better. went thru alot of hell before I figured this one out. dont know the reason behind tho'

If you are using the stock MAF there should be zero problems with whatever intake pipe you use. As long as there are not any leaks.

If you have a MAFT(translator) it is most likely that the calibration is out of whack. Confirm the boost/vacuum leak(runner) are gone and go from there.
