if you really want to get serious about traction, you are going about it the wrong way. You want to run smaller wheels with bigger sidewall tires in very sticky rubber.
If you run 16x8 on all 4 corners with some 225/50 tires that are "R" compound(eg BFG Drag Radials, or Khumo VictorRacers) and barely legal for the street, in the dry you will have no traction problems. They also make R non-slick tires, do some research. They can be had for not too much money.
On the other hand if you want to have a car that looks fast and you can tell people you have 10" wide wheels, cut out your wheel wells and bolt em up
Hell you can run 35 series rubber too and have another number that is "better" than other guys cars too.
What I am saying is sidewall flex helps with traction. Why do you think real dragsters use "wrinklewall" slicks?
OH and PS, breaking traction IS fun, hehehehe. Sliding sideways down a hiway onramp at near hiway speeds, feathering the throttle to keep from loosing it is a hoot.
PPS, I only dream of having a car that can do that, but I can't in real life.
