also, if you take off the pressure cap and thermostat housing, you can clean it up in there really well, and it also drains faster if its off.
I also took the rad out, and replaced the hoses. When its off you can clean stuff up real well, and stuff a hose up in your engine to really clean it out.
Also if its been a while, get some rad flush chemicals from a parts place and use that too and then flush it again. You will see....
the system cannot cool effectively if all the small areas are gunked up. Gunk doesnt transfer heat as well as metal.
