Hey guys,

I did a ARP and metal head gasket install, now i can't get compression on my engine!

This is a 1995 GST. I know its must be my timing! but i've done it like 10 times, and still I can't get good  compression. I've lined them all up.... and tried a compression test, but NOTHING!

Ive done this before without any problems! but now what can this be???
Did I miss something?

thanks,
Jerry

when you timed your engine it was mistimed the first time.. when you cranked the engine over you bent a minimum of 8 valves with the starter motor now you have no compression.. sorry for the bad news but you %99 need a head job.

Always always always hand crank the motor before power cranking it.... And don't use any muscle when you do it.  Do it with the plugs out, it should turn like nothin' with smooth minimal resistance.

running that rich and not reving past 2500, sounds like an air metering problem.  Maybe get a shop to check it out.

Is your fuel system stock or do you have aftermarket injectors and an AFC? I had this problem once when my AFC was reset and was dumping to much fuel into my system, causing the exact same problem as you have.

If its stock then it probably is an air metering problem...

i put the stock injectors in. and ahve an old 5 knob AFC, i'll take that out and see what happens, I have a walbro 255L pump.

I replaced the MAF, it didn't help. where else can there e a metering problem? I can rev the engine, but I can't drive the car! It sputters and lose all power at 2000ish RPM, and lots of black smoke is puffing out the muffler

no visiable, or audio sound from the IC piping. It revs fine, but under load it goes nowhere and has no power!

I'm going to pressure test it and see what happens, I've had leak before, but ithis has to be a pretty big leak if the car doesn't want to go over 2000rpm!

I blew off my IC pipe on the weekend - right at the IC itself.

I could not go over 2000rpm

If you hooked up a logger I think you'd find the problem right away.

i hooked up an OBD2 scanner, and found nothing wrong.. I've had pipes blow off on me too, but I also couldn't rev the engine! I have no problems reving the engine, even my BOV goes off!! It NOT a blown pipe problem.. that was the first thing i looked off. I've pulled and pulled on all my IC pipes and double cheacked all the clamps!

It has to be something else!
