"sticky" clutch pedal?
« on: March 14, 2003, 04:28:34 pm »
the first 1" or so of free-play on my clutch pedal has been feeling a little irregular the last few days. the rest of the travel feels just the same as always and it disengages fine and everything, but when i'm letting off the clutch pedal, it feels as if its getting stuck briefly at the point where the last inch of free play begins before coming all the way up. sometimes it gets to that point and just doesnt come up any further until i pull it up the last inch with my foot. any ideas? is it just a minor annoyance or could it be a bigger problem?

Have you tried changing your fluid and checking your master/slave clutch cylinders?

Check your clutch fluid see is it in good condition or not.  Also check the master and slave cylinders.

Jay, this was the almost the exact problem I had 2 weeks ago.  The only difference was that for me it was like half the travel was free play (could barely engage the clutch :x ).  All my problem was that I had a leaky reservoir and the fluid level was low.  Probably won't help a lot but maybe this story might help

thx for the help guys. my master and slave cylinders appear to be good though, the only part of the travel thats affected is the free play, and the action of the clutch isnt affected at all (as the type R found out on river road last night ). i was  thinking something with  the spring/coil thing attached to the clutch pedal  :?:
