LED daytime running lights

I decided to finally fix the DRL and add some cool feature to my car.

Bought a couple of LED strings on eBay (just $1 a piece):



Cut-off some extra LEDs to make proper sized rings, put them into the fog-light placeholders, and used zip-ties to keep them in place:



Connected a power wire to the accessories electrical circuit, which turns on with ignition, and here we go:

They are the same brightness - that's just different lighting and shutter speed.
It's difficult to show on a picture how they look in reality, so the first image is taken while it was not too dark, and under-exposed to reduce the glow and show separate LEDs.

They are available from many sellers, mostly from China. I got this item. There are actually better choices - ready to use round lamps made with LEDs in a plastic/metal case, but all those which I found were a bit bigger than the internal diameter of these fog light placeholders (or however they are called), so I decided to try these simple strips.

As for the work... man, unscrewing these placeholders, and screwing them back without removing the bumper was such a pain in the a$$!

That's why I only did that together with the bumper painting job. Asked those guys to install the new headlights at the same time.

sick..wouldn't mind that on mine too altho i have fog lights so wouldn't really work on that spot.
