Rebuilding (phase 1 = clean-up)
« on: November 08, 2002, 03:24:24 pm »
Ok, got the block and the head back from the machine shop...

Hot tank block  $50

Coldtank, glass bead,
and enlarge headbolt holes on
cylinder head  $40

Separate rods from pistons $20

For $40, the cylinder head looks amazing.  :D    I'm not going to paint it now.....

Phase 2 (not a complete list): Order piston$, bearings, polish rods, boring, honing, and some mild porting/polishing on the cylinder head.... its quite rough in some of those passages...

I'm doing the valves after the port/polish.   :)

I'm not going oversized this time.   For the added cost,  I don't think it would flow much more.  BUT I am gonna get cams...

I need to upgrade other areas before I could justify the cost.....   :?

Incredible......

Rob, if I wasn't such a shitty driver,  I would have got a 12.x with my trap speed of 108.xx mph.  More practice is required.  On the other hand, I don't want to prematurely retire my clutch.

The new motor will be a monster...
