k&n "cone" filter. The stock 2g intake has a bov recirculation tube extending through it ending near the turbo. If 1g has it and your using stock rubber intake, cut the tube out pshhhhhh.
6 bolt short block (.02 over evo9 pistons). Straight cut oil pump gears. Ported 2g head and manifolds, GSC S1 cams(adjustable gears), undercut SS valves, bronze guides, Manley springs. Youll have to have some means of tuning the car before you get rid of the recirc pipe.   The MAF registers the recirculated air.  So you have to make adjustments so the maf knows the air is no longer recirculated. Or else youll run into issues.

A filter will help but if you buy a 1g hard pipe, that'll make the noise louder still using the recirc. If you're tight for money, cut open the stock 1g airbox all around the mounts, remove the star shaped silencer inside the maf. That'll turn up the volume a bit.

I HAVE used a turboXS bov (aftermarket) on a 1g, vented to atmosphere, with no drivability concerns, but it did run very rich after the BOV went off (MAF does not know it's being vented, it calculates the air as going into the engine) using the stock 1g bov usually results in stalling, bad idle, but u can mod it so it stays closed better in idle/vacuum situations.

Best bet is to run a 3" GM maf in the upper intake pipe with a translator, or convert it to speed density, these will both allow the engine to run properly, and not run rich after the bov vents.

I'm actually running a forge splitter on my evo, with no drivability issues or over Fueling. Checked to make sure with evoscan/datalogger

no way dude, pull the recirc pipe, leave it on the bov and clamp a plastic bottle cap in the other end. Classic highschool maneuver, gets all the girls!!!! :-*
