hey, so I had to remove the cable from a Ziff socketed ECU.  I broke some pins.  Upon closer inspection, the cable itself is fine, but there is a Ziff socket adapter of sorts plugged into the actual cable terminal.

Where can I get one of these?  I know there are lots of you guys on here who tune, burn chips, build cabling etc.

and, secondly, can I run it without the adapter? or is it more than an adapter and has electronics in it?  The pins line up, but they are flat, not round like the Ziff socket pins.

thank you very much. :-[

i got a spare adapter for you john.

you can run them without the adapter...  the pins on the cable are very flimsy on the cable (flat style).  sometimes those style pins wont fit into the round machined style sockets so the ostrich cables come with actuall machined pin (round and stronger) style socket.  I got a spare u can have for my cost john.

did you actually break the cable itself or just the 28pin socket that plugs into the end?  those are $2 and shipping is sort of cheap.

Just the pins but the new style they sent me is way better! I'll post a pic

After a closer look it seem I was missing the silver pin part and was using only the gold pins. This is much better

yes, that's what I have.  I broke two of the end pins on that plastic adapter plate.  They are $2.
