2g maf or speed density
« on: November 11, 2016, 07:40:39 pm »
Looking at other keeping the maf setup or doing a SD conversion.  Car is a 98 with a 1g motor. And if I stay with maf what about a dsm link to tune? Any thoughts or suggestions.  Thanks.

Go SD. I just ordered dsmlink v3 for my blue talon. Im sure you'll see a dyno sheet before the end of the year and something about how it's great.

Then google.
Then read old postings about it.
Then ask.

depends on what you are planning on doing with it.  mostly stock?  Mild build?  moderate build but still need to daily drive it?  Go with a nice MAF setup.  Mafs are more forgiving, don't need as much tuning, will take many factors into account as the car changes over time, or you go up or down in altitude, or it gets cold, hot, etc.  You will get better mileage in all conditions. your car will pollute less.

If you are going to be using it mostly as a toy or track machine, and will be building it up to make lots of power, then you may need to dump the Maf as it can be a constrictive once certain power levels are reached.  More than you think too, so don't just go all "race car"
