Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but i just need your advice....

Ok, for the past few weeks i have been looking for my first Talon to get, and today i came across a REALLy nice one, and i wanted to see what you all think of this deal...

Its a 90 TSI AWD, 1 dent, pretty much mint exterior
new Low profile tires
NICE wheels (sorry, dont know what kind they are)
new muffler (straight through design)
130k on new engine he put in, but he told me it came from a automatic talon, does that make any difference?
And thats all i know so far...

Hes asking 6800obo, but i could get it for 6500$

What do you all think? What major questions should i be asking him next time i go look at it?

Thanx guys

Accidents?  Rebuild/Salvage title?  Local Car?
Mileage on the chassis?  Rust?
Automatic 1G's came with a smaller turbo.
I think it's overpriced.

yeah I definitly think that's a little much to pay, my '92 I got with original motor, 132k on it for $6000... and auto motors like Jacky said come with the 13b turbo, smaller than the 14b in the 5spd motors..

Here's my take on it.

The 90's are very unique cars.  They don't share many parts with the 91+, but in some cases are far superior than the 91+ DSMs.

The price is up to you, if the car is in mint condition and you're confident it's problem free and he has receipts to back up his claims it very well may be worth that much.

M/T TSi's came with a 14b turbo, A/T TSi's came with a 13b turbo.  Slight difference, but upgrading to the 14b isn't difficult nor expensive.  And you can sell the 13b on like ricescene or something.

Apart from that, definitely grab the VIN and look into it as Jacky suggested.

Good Luck!

6800 is gross

It's a 90 with ??? KMs (rebuild may as well be not with those kms)

I've seen many 1Ga DSMs from $3500 and up.

A guy in the forum here has one for $2200.

Get that and you have $4500 in your pocket to use as you wish on it.
