lean it out aaron u told me yourself you run it rich
-
Get in on that water injection group buy and crank the boost.
Do you run race gas at the track? I'm going to be working on my own brew or race gas this spring (Toulene+Methanol 20%)
-
I second the water injection. Should then be able to run a bit leaner with more boost and timing.
-
264 cams have been known to give somewhat significant gains
-
You'll probably see the most gains from tuning on that setup. Get a logger, or have someone log it. I dont know how a vpc works but you might see gains from an afc. especially after you log it and tune for knock and ensure you're getting full timing advance. You might be running too much boost.

all good suggestions, and may I add 1?
get a good adjustable fuel pressure regulator. The stock 1g 5spd has 2 knocks against it. One, its pretty low pressure at like 36 or 38 psi, whereas all the other turbo DSM's are in the mid 40's. And 2, it can't flow enough back to the tank, so it has issues with big pumps like the 255 Walbro's and the Supra TT pump.
You can get a real nice one from www.fullthrottlespeed.com Cost is $145 US, plus border crap. There are others, but you have to rig em up. They are cheaper tho. I am in the process of deciding, because I am pretty broke. If you can afford it, get the good one. It will help you to tune in the future, and thereby make more power, get better mileage, pass aircare, and have a nicer car to drive.

aaron its clear that you need to buy a fmic ...you will be faster...and i can buy your old one :D
I got the cash in my hand right now waitin for you dude
-
There's also an FMIC group buy going on, the thread will be a little old though, with you there's only 2 left I think.
Hell, get both, the FMIC and WI, then run however much boost you want and never worry about knock.
-
Thats a reasonable time for your setup. How consistent are you?
Faster on the cheap? Hmmmmm..... You could go a little faster by loosing weight. Start taking luxury and usless things out, doesn't cost anything. Tuning it better might get you a little faster. Maybe get a g-tech, find a back road, and play with the vpc.
If you want to go a lot faster, the bottom line is you'll need a bigger turbo. Ka -ching $$$......... Trade up.
-
I'd recommend fuel system.... and then tuning!
-
You might squeez some more HP from VPC tuning
External O2 dump will give you some extra HP, but besides what people already suggested the best way is to get t3/t4 Turbo :D
