Lifter tick, try changing your oil or topping it up, if not, when its ticking try to give it a decent rev and it might go away temporarily, or else you could either just live with it, or get new lifters.  I would just live with it personally.

I agree. Lifter tick.

make sure your oil is topped up and you use a good brand of oil, syth prefered.  Mine likes 10/30, it ticked worse with both thicker and thinner versions of Mobile1 supersyn.

could it possibly be that by driveway is kinda on a slope & all the oil would run to the front of the car .. iono.. good think it doesnt sound like a big deal..  thanks everyone for ur help..

Its just because they arent coated with oil in the morning on startup.  My lifters tick whenever I start the car up after letting it sit and then it goes away as soon as I start moving.  It's not a huge deal untill it gets worse, but mine hasn't in about a year so I wouldn't worry about it currently.

Been there, done that.  Lifter Tick.  I would say upgrade to the 2G lifters, but you already got them....

3G lifters is the ticket if its lifter tick.  They have larger inner passages that allow them to fill with oil and pump up faster.

That stepping on the clutch thing is a bit scary...

Exactly my thought John...I don't see what lifter ticking has to do with the clutch..

crankwalk??
get someone else to step on and off the clutch for you , while you are watching the crank pulley and try to see if the crank walks back and forth.
you will probably need to shine a good light in there from the top to see it move.  I have seen them move this way before.

Try to determine where the noise is coming from.. Listen through a length of heater hose and move it around the engine bay and try to find the ticking you hear.  Listen especially around the crank pulley to  see if CAS is hitting the trigger plate.  Once again have someone press the clutch and see if it goes away.  Listen to the transmission too, the noise could be coming from there since it goes away when you press the clutch.

He could also just take off the lower tbelt covers.  If the trigger plate is being struck, it should be pretty obvious...
