the wire and small piece it is attached to broke off my temperature sensor so I have no temp on my guage ( just looks like its turned off ) can I just soldier the wire back onto the senor? the bare metal were the conecotor broke off is right there....??? or should I get a new sensor?? and if so does anyone have one??

Why don't you just try soldering it back on?  I suspect with most of the stock sensors/wiring you don't have to worry about a dissimilar wire thermocouple set up.

just clean each part up enough to have bare metal and then touch them togeather and have someone look at the gauge.  if it moves up to spec after a few seconds, all it needs is contact.

so yea a solder job should do it.

If it's already broken, you can't break it more by trying to fix it....that's always been my theory and it has saved me a truckload of money over the years :P

Just last week I took my starter apart, not having a clue what I was doing, after some cleaning and adjustments it works again. 8)

yea but if its just the wire thats broken, all he has to do is reconnect it.  If he frigs up the sensor itself, he has to buy a new one.

ya its just sitting in there like a plug right now so I didn't even think to have someone watch the guage ( newb  :oops:  ) I'm on it tommorrow!

It's connected like a spade connector from the factory, sometimes it just comes undone. If the conntor broke off the wire, crimp another female spade on the end, if the male spade came off the thermocouple you're pretty much stuck soldering the wire right onto it.
