What colour smoke? Was it coming out constantly or just when you started it up? How old is the gas in the car?

Sniff it.  Does it smell like raw fuel (as a normal motor will before it warms up and starts making a complete burn) or sweet.  Sweet is bad, coolant smells sweet when it burns.

its actually a good thing to fill your tank before storing a car as that way you won't get a ton of condensation in your tank.  And your tank can't rust where the gas is.

But old gas doesn't burn well, I think I'd pump that gas out as much as you can and put fresh stuff in, and make sure your car is running on that before you go thru.

get it good and warm too.
