search for "cam gears" on google or on ebay.. it'll get you an idea

to go anywhere from cheap to expensive (Unorthodox's new stuff = expensive)

If you're looking for an adjustable one, be prepared to pay upwards of $200-$300 for a good one.

Old age being one main reason, the rubber gets frail. I have seen many split, but I am not aware of any link to ONE reason. Maybe Lore or the Foo can tell us more, them having seen more broken DSMs than anyone should have to in one lifetime.  :P

Mr. Fraser is correct, there's a fair amount of load on that baby and with time they all fail. If you own the car long enough, you WILL buy a new one...
