Hey guys whats up ? I just got a new pyrometer from autometer and need to instal it . Its the threaded stye with a weld insert .The insert has to have  a 9/16 hole to sit in the mani seems like a big hole . Have any of you tried to tap the mani itself and thread the unit itself in without the weld fitting? Any input would be greatly appreciated. :)

No experience with it but in thinking about it I would say that doing it  that way could lead to leakage and/or cracking around the probe since the mani is thin and cast. There would also only be a few threads to hold it due to the thickness issue. (I'm assuming the bung will sit proud) I think I would want to do it the way they suggest.

PS I'm jealous, I need an EGT too 8)
