you will have to rig it up "Mustang" style as it won't have all the correct fittings, but you can make it work.

the 1g walbro kits use a 2g or "universal" style pump.  The 1G kits just come with a wiring adapter to make it work with the 2g style wiring.

SO yes, The 1g 255 lph walbro pump will fit perfectly into your 2G. or it should anyways.

i not sure about the fittings john is talking about?? dont the  2G's just use a "hat and o'ring" to seal off the top pump outlet where 1G use a hose over the outlet... but i could be wrong here.  I have been wrong about rear o2 sensors affecting fuel trims before!

i think i compared a "1g" and "2G" dsm kit before.  they were idential besides the wiring adapter in the 1g kit and extra piece of hose/clamps and small oring.  they should both also come with a neopreme "sock" or whatever and a hose clamp i beleieve.

I've never actually put one in a DSM, but apparently if you hook it up with a universal pump, it won't hold pressure when the key is off?  And if its hooked up with the correct parts, it will?

I asked Lowell about this once when he did my pump WAY back in the day  :)

Also Marke and I were talking about it and his is hooked up "Mustang" style and he has to crank it a little to build up pressure whereas mine (at least it used to, I think the little check valve has bit it) would crank on one or less crank rotations sometimes.

But like I said, I have never actually put a pump in Dizzm.  TONS of other cars, but never one of these.

Seems like it just may need some special wiring, such as the 1g wiring kit or something similar. Or you could just sell it and get one that will drop right in.

OK this is it!

1g FWD pump only = 2G pumps (both fwd and awd)
1g AWD is it's own.

it's all about the inlet and outlet positions to the pump.

The installation kits are specific to each model.
