Hey guys, new member here.  Couple guys I met at the drags on Saturday referred me to this site.

Bought my GSX in January as my DD ever since (my summer driver is a 600hp 300zx) but it's sidelined now as I blew the clutch at the drags, and I think the tranny went out as well.

I'm new to the AWD family, and don't know much about their transmissions, but hope to find good resources here.

Shant.

Possibly, although I live in Surrey, I drive pretty much everywhere for different reasons.

I have smoked tails and reverse lights if that helps if anyone's spotted me...but i'd like to change that back to the stock red :)

I've seen a lot of bcdsm driver's around eyeing me but never signed up sooner cause the reg was closed and I gave up after 2 minutes.

I have a full 3" turboback apexi exhaust, the big and tall gsx wing, what I believe to be the stock turbo, and a non-oem intake (dunno what it is).  Motor was just rebuilt with new gaskets, and the block and valve cover painted frankenstein green!

Fo Sho.  Not the most cosmetically sound car, and in desperation for wheels, but whatever...it's just time and money.  Will take some pics later today.

If anyone knows of a used 5sp awd transmission, lemme kno.  My tranny is cracked on the bellhousing (the part that connects the tranny to the transfer case).  I knew I shouldn't have tracked it just yet :P

When I saw your car it has different size wheels and u have awd. I did warned you ;D ;D ;D. You might wanna change to same size wheels on all corners or u might end up having the same problem again.

yep, the only reason I had different wheels on the back was cause one of the rear wheels was bent and leaked enough to annoy me, so I threw on my z32 stockers.

Never realized, but in hindsight, it makes complete sense.

Don't see why that would cause my tranny to go ape shit though.  Maybe transfer case though.

The split happens inside the trans. The transfer case takes pretty much takes a shaft from trans and turns it to face the rear.  I am not 100% but pretty sure. It's not like a Chevy transfer case that takes the trans output and turns it into 2 shafts for the front drive and rear.
Your viscous coupler in your transmission is what usually goes when driving on wrong sized tires.
Ask me how I know. ;)

and get 4 same size tires on asap, for real.

You can actually overheat and sieze the center diff up, and if you are driving you can have severe control issues leading to a crash or hitting the ditch.
