I'm so with you guys on that front.  Thought about it for years.

Pat, there are new events planned for BC Driving Center in Pitt Meadows this year.  I am on a waiting list as it sold out before I got home to sign up.  With luck, no assholes will frig it up for everyone.  That is a real nice facility for it.  Flat and smooth, with decent runoffs.

I know it's a common problem with all the driving car clubs in the lower mainlands. After the Boundary Bay airport close down now Pitt Meadows say we are too loud and not welcomed.

There was apparently a meeting with the Pitt Meadows people who were pissed off, and one of the car clubs. VCMC, I think. It went fairly well, from what I've heard. I wouldn't write off the whole season quite yet.
Objects in mirrors appear to be losing.

no, I am a member of UBCSCC, and its not written off.  There is an event coming up and its sold out, like I said.  But participants have to keep things more than civil.

The Pitt Meadows people(the handful) that were pissed were very closed minded and had no actual facts and real problems, they just decided it was a good idea to bitch and complain, and everyone knows politicians listen to, well, anyone before they listen to youth with fast cars, no matter what.  I am glad its working out at least for now.

There were speeders down that one road, but there were lots of records of it happening when no autox weekend was on.  This fact didn't seem to deter their misconcieved hate.  Our club and possibly others made good points and concessions on this.  I hope it can be resolved.  Its a great facility.  I wish it was closer to my house.

More about car control is learned in one weekend of autox if you apply yourself than most people learn in thier lifetime of driving on the streets.  If ICBC and police and the govt would consider this fact, more people would be better drivers, and there would be less accidents.  And thats a big .  not a little one.

PS, I guess airplanes taking off and landing are not noisy?  Nahhh...

PPS, the BC Driving Center IS RIGHT NEXT TO AN AIRPORT!  So close in fact that several of my autox pics have airplanes taking off and landing in them.

even now those events are "experimental". I would count on our retarded politicians to resume banning as soon as we run one. This is the only thing you can count on them. Not the bacon brothers, not the gang violence but they'll shut up anyone with a fast car.

screwyall lemme take my glock out and shoot someone while driving fast. Apparently you can get away with anything if you have a gun. /logic

Theres some awesome autocross in vernon that i used to go to when i lived up near there.  Only a few hours away.  Its sponsered by the Kelowna Corvette Club and is very well organized and well run.

Look into it!  You dont have to pay any crappy ferry fees either!

heres a vid of my colt a few years ago competing.  (In car vid)

well, I was actually at the last event and it was real.  The rain drops, the snow, the times, the cars all real.  I was there.  The rest of the season looks good too, but what do I know?  Its probably all a figment of my imagination.  Mine and all the other UBSCSS and VCMC club members.

hey did you catch the VCMC track days that are coming up? They're doing some driver training on those and then letting the crazies loose on the mission road course. That would be fun. Think your vr4 would be up to it  ?
They're like expensive pokemon... gotta catch 'em all.

just so you know, you can't just sign up with Karelo, and go to the event.  Karelo is just an intermediary for the various clubs to make payment easier.  you have to be a member or sometimes just sign up at the club website.  But you have to find out if its still open, and open for you.  Also find out the rules etc.

Its like paying for something with paypal before you have confirmed that you can buy it.
