The engine was out of an Escort GT so it was totally legal, but you are right it is an engine made by Mazda. You should have heard the anouncer the first time he pulled up to the line. "I know its a Ford shoot out but a FESTIVA, come on".

Do they have a Dodge/plymouth day at the track where all mopars are racing?  I would love to enter my colt into something like that.

sure it is!! its out of a "plymouth" laser... or a "eagle" talon.  

If he can compete with a mazda made engine in his festiva (that came in a ford escort).... then i dont see why my colt wouldn't be allowed to enter "dodge/mopar" events.

I asked the tech guy if i could compete in the "domestic" class.... He sorta looked at me wierd and said theres no way for him to stop me from doing so considering its a dodge afterall.


I would love to take on some american mustle instead of all the imports i see at fri. night streetlegals.
