cam what do i need to do to bring the skyline out ?

Nothing.  just have terminal covers on the batt, you should have no issues with tech on that car.

One of my posts on another forum.

Here are the things I check for when doing tech for my local club:

-Leaking fluids. If I see puddles under the car, it's probably an automatic fail (If it's not water, that is).
-Secure battery that won't move when grabbed/shaken. The positive terminal, at least, must be insulated.
-The throttle return spring does its' job.
-Check brake fluid resevoir level.
-No obvious damage or things wrong in the engine bay.
-Wheels/bearings are tight and free of excess play. I always ask if the lugs have been torqued, and if it's anything other than 'last night', I'll ask them to find a torque wrench.
-Steering is free of excess slop and feels like it may be connected to something.
-Brake pedal is firm or something resembling firm, and returns when your foot's off it.
-Seatbelts are in decent condition.
-All items are cleared from the passenger compartment, including floormats.
-Helmet is of the appropriate rating (Snell S or M 2000/2005 for our club)

You'll want to make sure you've got plenty of air in your tires (12 psi per thousand pounds of car is a good starting point). Half to three-quarters of a tank of gas. Some food/drink. Dress for the weather, and bring some clothes for when it changes. Make sure your car's various service items are good (oil, coolant, brake fluid, PS fluid, etc). Torque your wheels before you go (in the ever important star pattern). Take anything you don't need out of the car before you leave for the track. Bring a pen. And a tire pressure guage. And a temp gun, if you like. Bring your helmet, of course, and cash for the entry fees.

First event of the year today. Super-awesome.
Long track that flowed very well.
I left the Talon on the sidelines  - Not ready to abuse the clutch yet - Drove a Focus instead.
It was actually quite a bit of fun. Very loose car, tail happy. Sharp steering.
Owner beat me by .5 second in the couple dry runs we got, but I nailed him by ~1.5 in the wet.

FTD was a DSM - Hamish.
Dan was out & looking fast. Wet weather teaches you how to be smoooooth very quickly.


Next event is on Valentines Day. Forget your date, go racing!

I will be faster next time Cam, I was over running the 1G MAF all over the track, I will be getting everything to install my 2G MAF this week, and getting my eprom chip re-done by Jeff O.

+1 everyone expects their DSM to let them down, so when it happens you  won't be upset.. your significant other on the other hand is a different storie.

I had every intention of attending the season opener at Saratoga, but was sick as a dog.  Valentines day weekend is when I take posession of the new house (FINALLY), so unfortunately I will be missing that one too. 
After that I should be fair game unless the car lets me down, and if it does I will drive the red one.  Barring that the maroon one.

VMSC hosted their Spring Fever Eliminator this weekend.

Overall an incredible event - One course in the morning, a second course in the afternoon, and a shootout involving the top 4 cars from each event plus some randomly drawn entries. I think I got ten runs in over the course of the day - Made it to the semifinal in the morning, the final in the afternoon, but took a cone during my first run of the shootout and was knocked out.

New wheel/tire combo helped lots, plus the car was running well all day.

Dan was out there as well looking fast, but his car class ultimately got the better of him.

Well i'm glad i "looked" fast, i felt like i was fighting the car all day, it was a horrible day for me personally.  Even spun the car 360 on one of the slalom sections.  The elimination style event on the other hand was great.

I sure am, I was in ESP with cam for a bit, then decided the pile of parts i had sitting around should go on the car putting me in SM.  I don't mind it, i'm pretty much out there to compete against myself and time, but when PAX is factored in it gets a little discouraging sometimes.

Isn't Hamish's Talon in SM too?  Or is he running the Vette mostly now?

Yup Hamish is running in SM, Jim tends to drive the Vette from what i've seen.  The Vette hasn't been out this year so far.
