Something a little different...
« on: July 03, 2010, 03:30:21 am »
This weekend at Thunder Mountain Raceway I entered the "King of the Hill" competition with the talon. Basically a single lap eliminator race for street legals during the intermission of the regular races. I lucked out, took home a trophy and a check for $100. Tons of fun though it was humbling on how bad my regular setup is on an oval track. The Porche was getting me worried as he was toe'd out and sporting a new beefy set of BF G-Force KDW's.....no match for some DSM power on the straights..... Boost in the corners is a bad thing, lol.

enjoy....

I could just imagine the thought in that guy's head that was driving the porche as you guys were coming around the last bend. Then his heart just drops as you hit boost and pull away haha.

Good job man

Thanks guys. I honestly have to say that was more of a rush than drag racing. I logged the car before the races to make sure things were decent. 24psi and flowing 56lbs/min with 1 deg of knock periodically. I think with a good set of tires I could have done better. Though I was smoking my rear outside tire on all the corners due to the welded center diff.

I was wondering what that smoke was about.

There was also a bunch of absorbing powder stuff on the track from the "Crash to Pass" event. While on the last straight of my first run I looked behind and got a little worried. Thought I had engauged the DSM track oiling system again, lol. Was just the spinning mixed with the powder stuff kicking up.
