they are a good car for what they are, they are apples to our oranges for compairison. Mind you, there are more DSMs in the 11s than there is 3KGTs in the 12s, Their community is no where near as advanced as our is for budget speed, EFFECTIVE modifications further than boost increases without grenading their trannys.... Troy is right . 12s seem to be their upper limit for cost NON prohibitive expenditure. :).... 12s is where we JUST start to get expensive, and 11s are within easy reach.

Anyone can argue all day long about how good they are, but the numbers just dont agree. In our realm of 1/4 stuff they SHOULD kick our collective asses, but do not.

hell, mid 12s on a street car are fine with me:)

And a top speed of approaching 300kmh.  That is alright in my books.

Running it everyday, pump gas, nice looks, ok gas mileage, comfortable.

But way too expensive, headache for maintainance.

hehe i didnt say it wasnt possible, i just said our roads werent designed for it. You realize at that speed that one bump can unload the suspension and, you're dead.

yea, that speed is not safe unless you have a more controlled situation.

that said, I have gone 190 in my Talon, with lots to spare, but alot faster in my 75 Skyhawk :)  Yea, believe it.  I had a 3.8l v6 with a Holley Dominator, small 4bbl, dual exhaust, and a 4spd.  It had 2:56 gears.  Crappy for off the line accell, but holy hell top speed.  Speedo was in MPH as it was a 75, and I saw 125 once, still slightly climbing, but a corner was coming up, so I backed outta the thing.  In that car it was scary as hell, but oh well, your only 19 once :)

Dodge stealth/3000gt are extremely heavy cars 3700+lbs, without a doubt they can make huge hp numbers but i'd hate have to replace parts on them. Especially with the rumored tranny that cant be rebuilt

The 3KGT is a touring car in my opinion though.  I wouldn't own one as a drag car.  If I ever had one it'd be set up for 60kmh-160kmh power instead of drag launches.  They're just too heavy to be anything else.  If I was going to build a car for drag it'd be a rwd or awd with the potential to build huge power in a lightweight chassis.

A week after I bought my talon, I drove up to whistler and had it doing 230, bone stock, in those big wide passing parts of the highway.

My knees start getting rubbery around 200 so i always back off

the highest ive taken mine is 220, pulls pretty good to it too, but it wasnt the smartest thing to do at the time. my tires are speed rated to 190, one was worn down to the belts, and i think my rear shocks are dead too :?
