Anybody know what time the track is open to.  A bunch of my friends are thinking of going to watch but they want to know what time it runs to.

generally speaking, Tech opens at 4:00 - 4:30

racing starts at 5:30 or 6:00 depending on the evening

usually shuts down at about 10:00 or so... last year then went until 11:00 though...

Dumb Question?
« Reply #6 on: April 04, 2003, 10:24:24 am »
Ok, here's a question that hasn't been answered by any rules stated on missionraceway.com

The drag strip in PG allowed passengers during street legals and other special events.

Does mission raceway allow passengers in the car?  There IS a rule that says "8.  The trunk and passenger compartment of the vehicle must be empty prior to racing." ... but somehow, I doubt that means no passengers.

Anyone got an idea on this? Thnx :)

mission does allow passengers, but you cant go faster than 12.00 and they both need helmets.

On second thought, it could be 13.00, not sure exactly.

Well, untill I get my NOS and engine swap ... I don't think 12's or 13's will be much of a concern in my NT :)  But thanks for the info ... fiance wants to go for a ride, and my bro-in-law has a '82 High Sierra shortbox/stepside with a M-Thompson 350 Special and a bunch of other goodies he wants to race, but lost his D/L, so I'd be the driver but he wanted to be in there too.  Either way, good news - mebbe be there t'night ;) depends on when I get get out and if I can do my coolant flush in time or not.

Now, I've never been out to Mission Raceway before, if you're participating in the race, do you get a parking spot inside the track with a place to do minor tuneups or changes (kinda like the pit, i guess)?  I'd like to bring some tools just in case, but they obviously can't be in the car while I'm racing - so where can I store 'em? Thanks for the info!

Yes you can have a passanger, i think anything under 13.99 they both need Snell95 helmets anything over you dont need a helmet and the co-driver needs to sign a waiver.

I think im gonna get my girl to come with me tonight and run with me, im aiming for high 14's, that would be nice, any improvement on last year would be great.

Is a camera in the hand of the passenger considered a loose object?  I would think so...

So what happens if you don't have a helmet and you go 13s?  They kick you out?  My datalogging shows that I'm in the 13s, but I'd like to verify that at the track.  I'm also probably not going to be there enough to justify buying a helmet...Grrr...how annoying.

helmet required at 13.99

if u run 13's without a helmet u will get a warning, then get booted

camera in hand? pfftt.. just dont let them see it.. kiddin. .they'll be OK with that i'm sure

Camera is fine, its no problem, I believe if you run below 13.99 wihout a helmet they give you warning and you are not allowed to run without one, next time they boot you out of the event.

as for helmet, either they'll come over and give you a warning or they wont even notice, i mean why would they, imports never dip below 14.00 ;) There was a guy that mid 13s to high 12s all night last year with no helmet, they didnt even notice.
