Every time I ran a 12whatever they without fail would GLARE at me as I made the turn off the track, then they would look in my car at the timeslip booth and ask me if I ran with headgear, cause i was "pretty fast" hehe. not just once, but every run.

Okay, so where can I get a CHEAP helmet?

I've seen several 13 second guys with no helmets.  They are pretty lax with us on that.  I think it is the fact that they cannot admit that a non-V8 car can run that fast.  Hehe

Good nite tonight, last run was rained out.  Yea right, they all just wanted to go home.  It was a very light sprinkle, and it stopped before I got my numbers off !!

Oh well, had my best and my worst run tonite.  Ran a 14.65@84 due to a 2.5second 60', horribly bogged launch, and couldnt find 4th.

Then I ran a 14.07 at 98, with a 1.93 60'  Much better, and a few ticks better than last week.

Tommy was there, not driving tho, but doing better.  Good to see.

Some faster cars out tonite, and some nice cars too.  Yellow Viper GTS, a nice 3rd gen Supra(white with alot of money spent under the hood), nice stuff, good chicken fingers

so how many runs did you get in?  any good numbers from the imports? What did duane run with the white supra?? hehe. I am curious to say the least with his new setup.

I got in 5 runs, and they chickened out with the "sprinkle"  Oh well

Some fast imports but not too many.  I was the quickest Talon(except for my HORRID run, where Travis owned me), the yellow GTi with the G60 was there, the black RX7(3rd gen), a ghetto lookin civic, all mid - low 13's thats it.  And the White Supra couldn't seem to get better than 13.2.  Surprising to me, that car looked fast!

the rest was not too impressive, the 2 other Supra's were like mid-high 14's and it got worse from there.

so yea, you woulda got import E/t again.

Maybe the Supra had some tuning issues...  I think I know who you're talking about, I chatted with him last year.  He does have a lot of eye candy under the hood so he should be pretty fast.  That's the problem with high strung turbo engines, adjust a few knobs the wrong way and a 12 second car becomes a 16 second car that can't even idle right.  Hehehe, but hey, that's also the fun of it, being able to get a second or something out of the car with just adjustments and tuning.  

And as for the helmet thing, I can't remember that guys name now, but that little yellow rabbit with the 14b, he was doing 13.5s until he broke the engine mount without a helmet the other night.  

It'd be funny to put a tuned up 4G63T into a mustang chassis and go run some fast times then pop the hood for the officials and domestic guys and laugh at 'em when they see it's import powered

I must be thinking of that A1 Sirocco from last week.  It ran low 14's and ws force fed.

Yah I ran 2x 14.764 dead on the nose 2 in a row then a 14.786, so I ran 3 runs nothing was changing and I called it a night and went and got loaded.  Im pretty damn happy with that, as soon as I get my 3" exhaust slapped on I should be right by Johnny boy.  And about the run where I beat him, I was like shit, NO WAY, no way I could be that fast.  And of course Johns launch licked.  But even the run where he ran a 14.09 and I ran a 14.764 I had John through first gear and half into 2nd, but as soon as he hit 3rd gear, damn, he pulled on me so hard, it must be that damn 3" I think.  But it definately was a fun night, sheded off .4 seconds since last year with hardly any money into it.

A 3" turbo-back exhaust makes a HUGE difference over stock.

hey Trav, on that race, I was just looking over the slips, and according to the Mission Raceway Park, I still beat you on that one  Hehe, I had no idea, I ran a 14.65 or something to your 14.7whatever.  oh hell  here is the slip.  

I am 2697, you are 2797>  Kinda cool eh?

so yea you wasted me at the lights, but that doesn't seem to mean anything.  I had an UGLY 1.084 rt, and a nasty 2.409 60' to your .806 and 1.97 60'

at the 1/8th, it was getting pretty dang close, 9.487 for you and a 9.498 for me, not much there

at 1000', I had ya, your 12.344 to my 12.192

1/4mile it was your (you guessed it) 14.786(mr consistency) to my 14.686, exactly 1/10th, in my favour.

as you can see tho, by the mile an hour, I missed 4th(again, got excited as I was realing you in).  only 89.73 where I usually run 98 or so.

until I got back to the pits and saw you get outta your car, I thought you were the other black Talon there,the one that none of us saw, except on the track.

Moral of the story?  Your gonna LOVE your 3" mandrel bent exhaust

edit/ just rereading  Trav, according to the other slip where we ran, the only stat you had me on is the r/t.  All the other stats favour my run on that one.  Very close at the 60', but I was ahead.

hehe, yea me too.  I thought that, when I ran 14.2 on my first pass with a 2.0 second light, that I would take a second off my time if I cut a better light LMAO
